  at the moment the usa has around 2 million people in prison.. along with that you have some crazy prison sentences.. .

  thug shot at police 19 times.

  But people being imprisoned for stealing food and stuff? Isn't that like something out of Les Miserables? What century are we in?

  I would venture to guess it's probably punishable by imprisonment to steal food and stuffs in Canada also.

  the drama continues, i log on to facebook this morning and notice that i have about 20 some odd personal messages from people calling me an apostate to they will return to me when i return to jehovah.. all of this based upon my brother informing others that i have "apostate thoughts".

  my mother also encourage long-time famil friends to "unfriend" me because i have taken my stand on the side of satan... wow.

  don't you just love this international brotherhood.

  hi there, this is my first post, but i've been buzzing around this site for years.. i got married at 18, hubby was 20, i was a regular pioneer and we were talking about serving in bethel.

  fast forward - i left in 2004 after a 5 year battle with my conscience, family and friends who kept insisting that i was just "weak and needed to have another bible study".

  however hubby and i stayed together although it was kinda on the understanding that we would just not talk about it.

  Was this land bought or donated? Many very wealthy JW's would pay big bucks to build a retirement home on that Watchtower lakefront property. The Watchtower could think of ways to make money off the flock vacationing to come visit the new WT HQ. The JW cult will morph from a religious publishing corporation to a real estate development/investment holding company religious corporation.

  And, Think About It, please don't call me crazy again. I know you love your country RIGHT OR WRONG, but *this* Canadian loves the American PEOPLE, and is very sad to see what is happening south of the border.

  Tal......if I implied anything negative towards you in the past, please understand it would not have been personal, and I do humbly apologize. As for my patiotism, please understand that I was in a religious cult that suppressed love for one's country, so now that I'm out of the cult I am very patriotic for the U.S.A regardless of which party is currently in power.

  I don't agree with things that the U.S.A. has done that is wrong, but I do think it was wrong of Simon to make a thread based on hand picked criteria that would do nothing, but further his anti-American personal views (which most here already know) or just encourage people here to jump on his bandwagon. No Ameican on this board would even think about starting a thread "7 graphs that prove Canada is overrated" to promote Canada bashing.
